Prof. dr. Carl Rohde holds positions at EUHT, St.Pol, Barcelona, Spain and at Hotelschool The Hague, Amsterdam. In 2012 the Municipality of Shanghai awarded him with a chair at Shanghai Institute of Technology. Rohde conducts one of the leading research projects in Future Forecasting & Innovation worldwide. Over the last eight years he has held master classes at 52 universities on four continents on the theme.


Rohde will present how Future Forecasting works, in a methodologically sane and validated way. How future forecasting leads to innovations, with examples from several branches. Also Rohde will present some of the poignant outcomes of the research regarding China.

In recent years, for Shanghai Institute of Technology, Rohde also conducted a specific China-European research: From Cheap to Smart Production in China – business and educational innovations next step. As a limited part of this research, Rohde brainstormed with a selection of RaboBank Shanghai Millennials on the future of banking.
