Karel Eloot is a Senior Partner with McKinsey’s Shanghai office where he co-leads the Asia Operations Practice and IoT Venture. He joined McKinsey in 1997, working in the Benelux office before transferring to China in 2006. Earlier in his career, he worked as a steel researcher in Belgium, Germany, the U.S. and Japan, authoring papers for international journals such as ISIJ International (the journal of the Iron and Steel Institute of Japan), Journal de Physique, and the Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials.

Philippe Snel is member of the Brussels Bar and has been active as a lawyer in China for well over a decade.
As one of the few independent foreign lawyers in Shanghai, he leads a team of 15 lawyers who assist foreign investors to establish, develop and operate their businesses in China, as well as Chinese investors who seek to expand their investments overseas. He mainly advises in the fields of corporate law, compliance and technology transfer.
Philippe teaches Intellectual Property & Technology Law at the Finance & Business School of Shanghai Normal University and is founder and chairman of Sinnolabs, a business accelerator for European technology companies in China.
Alexander is the Senior Editor of Asia Briefing, the subsidiary of Dezan Shira & Associates, Asia's largest independent foreign direct investment practice. He specializes in political and economic analysis, advising companies entering China’s unique and rapidly changing business environment.
His work as an editor and analyst includes producing business intelligence and commentary for open-source and subscription publications on the China Briefing and ASEAN Briefing websites, magazines, business and tax guides, and special issue reports. He provides editorial support and management across Asia Briefing’s various regional platforms.
