The Benelux Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai presents the 2025 Legal Training Programme, a series of seminars designed to help businesses navigate China's evolving legal environment. Course Overview: Affected by the economic downturn in the post-pandemic era, the pressure faced by enterprises has gradually become prominent, and the vast majority of enterprises have had to choose or be forced to carry out organizational adjustments and layoffs. At the same time, in the new stage of development in the new era, the connotation and extension of labor relations have also undergone significant changes. Employees' demands for rights and interests are more diverse, putting forward new and higher requirements for the prevention and resolution of contradictions and disputes.

At this seminar, we will combine the newly effective Interpretation (II) of the Supreme People's Court on Issues Concerning the Application of Law in the Trial of Labor Dispute Cases and relevant typical cases to share with you some observations, practices and gains of enterprises in the process of organizational adjustment and layoffs.


We will focus on discussing the following hot topics:

(a)The basis and restrictions for the termination of labor relations

(b)The options and risks of staff layoff plans

(c)Adjustments regarding the termination/expiration of labor contracts in the new Judicial Interpretation II (including termination after expiration, restoration of labor relations, and dismissal protection)
