About Mentor Walks Asia
Mentor Walks bring together established women leaders and emerging women leaders in our community to connect, learn, mentor and share experiences. As they walk, they discuss their professional and personal challenges, successes, aspirations, and lessons learned.
Our Mentors & Mentees
Mentors and Mentees come from a diverse variety of backgrounds including, international development, foreign affairs, law, finance and banking, business development, marketing, public relations, humanitarian and non-profit work, corporate social responsibility, academia, entrepreneurship, hospitality, healthcare, technology and media, sustainability, energy, international trade, and more.
Mentors are at the top of their fields. Whether in senior management in a major company, a thought leader, a business owner, or simply a force of nature in their professions, they've worked hard to get where they are and are high achievers. With their experience, they are role models to other inspired women in our community.
Mentees are either in their early professional years, have been in their career for a number of years now, or are entrepreneurs looking to learn from other enterprising women. Mentees may be hitting their stride professionally, are becoming a key contributor to their company, or growing their experience and expertise. They invest in themselves and other women to keep that momentum going. Mentees are not high school or university students, but rather professionals making their mark in the working world.
The Shanghai Mentor Walks
The Shanghai Mentor Walks was started in 2015, after the immense success of it's sister programme in Beijing. Each supporting organization coordinates a different month of the Mentor Walk.
Mentors and mentees gather in the park for an informal early morning walk on the 3rd Friday of every month. We meet at 7:45 am opposite Jing'an Park (in Pedestrain street between Jiuguang department store & Jing'an Temple) and walk in smaller groups for approximately an hour. Each year, the Mentor Walks kick off in March and close in November with a large group mentor and mentee gathering.
