On October 24th and October 31st, the Benelux Chamber of Commerce (in collaboration with the Consulate General of Belgium in Shanghai) will organize two receptions to welcome a total of one hundred Belgian architects who will be visiting China. These architects will travel through China, as they are part of a Flemish non-profit organization called "Archipel" – which aims to connect Flemish architects. Among them will be notable academics such as Annemie Demeulemeester & Bart Lens from KU Leuven, as well as renowned architects such as Alexander Dierendonck & Isabelle Blancke from Dierendonckblancke Architecten, and many more. As these architects are here to (re)discover China, we would like, especially our members active in "Design & Construction", to attend this networking reception.
Archipel is a Flemish non-profit organization dedicated to exploring no-nonsense architecture. They host monthly talks by renowned architects, offering insights into innovative work in Flanders and beyond. Archipel also organizes international architectural tours, visiting iconic and groundbreaking buildings worldwide. Their mission is to understand the universal and timeless aspects of architecture, creating a passionate community of professionals and enthusiasts alike. Over the years, Archipel has built a strong network, making architecture accessible and inspiring to diverse audiences. More information can be found here: https://archipelvzw.be/en/info
