On 27th June, 2017 a global Ransomware spread worldwide through an accounting software, crippling its users networks around the world. This attack had a lingering impact on businesses around the world across a diverse range of sectors, including transportation, life sciences, financial services and Government, demonstrating how cybercriminals have power to cause maximum disruption to organisations.
It is the second major global cyberattack in less than two months, following the WannaCry worm that hit computers across the globe in May, and one among a long series of ransomware attacks against all types of companies.
Another vital issue on-going right now is the future of VPN in China. Many companies and household use VPN to keep in touch with the rest of the world. But China says the VPN crackdown is primarily aimed at "cleaning and standardizing" access to the internet. What will that mean for foreigners living in China, for foreign companies that need VPN in order to do trading etc? Do we go back to how it was many years ago when there was no VPN existing at all?
