Bridging Europe and China through inorganic strategies: Building Partnerships That Last
Hosted by the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, in partnership with Nordic Match
Going it alone in China is getting harder to justify. Domestic competition is intensifying, local players are moving up the value chain, becoming fiercely innovative and taking their ambitions global. For European businesses, this brings new risks and new routes to growth, and more and more of those routes run through well-structured partnerships with Chinese companies.
The question is no longer whether to consider a partner, but how to do it well.
What to expect
Nordic Match opens with a briefing on China's current economic and business landscape, then goes straight to three questions:
- When does a partnership make sense, and when doesn't it?
- What does it take to structure a joint venture, minority investment or acquisition that works?
- Where do European companies most often get it wrong?
Nordic Match draws on its own hands-on experience in Sino-European M&A and market entry to answer these questions directly.
Panel: lessons from the field
Senior leaders from various sectors will talk candidly about the partnerships they have pursued in China: the opportunities, the obstacles, and what they would do differently. The panel is followed by an open Q&A.
