After successful previous editions in 2023, 2024, 2025, the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Shanghai is organising the Run to Zero once again on 31 May 2026. Together with our sponsors, we aim to raise awareness on the importance of carbon neutrality, promote environmental awareness and call on everyone to reduce carbon emissions in their daily life.

Both China and the Netherlands have set ambitious carbon neutrality goals and we as individuals can also play a role in achieving those targets. For this Run to Zero we are cooperating with Shanghai Roots & Shoots who as part of their Million Tree Project will plant trees in Inner Mongolia to combat desertification and carbon emissions. The ticket price includes a running shirt, and the proceeds will go toward tree planting in Inner Mongolia.

We are honoured to welcome His Excellency Mr. André Haspels, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to China, who will join us at Run to Zero 2026 in support of carbon neutrality and environmental awareness.
